The Department of Health has issued the "Boil Water' Notice for Milltown-Washburn Water as a precautionary measure because of the possibility that contaminated water may have entered the distribution system as a result of low chlorine residuals. Boil water briskly for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation until further notice.

Milltown-Washburn Water is a public water system subject to regulations under the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. Those regulations require the notification of customers whenever a violation occurs and is the basis for this notice.
